I Me Myself

What was the start of all this? When did the cogs of fate begin to turn? Perhaps it is impossible to grasp that answer now, From deep within the flow of time... But, for a certainty, back then, We loved so many, yet hated so much, We hurt others and were hurt ourselves... Yet even then, we ran like the wind, Whilst our laughter echoed, Under cerulean skies...

My Fifth Post

31st March 2006. Today was the last day of the week. To reach this stage, i would normally feel quite relaxed and happy. However, looking back at all the tutorials piling up, i can only feel my blood pressure rising up. But never mind, i'll just have to buck up and do it all during the weekends.

Well, enough of my whining. Let's look back on today's events. Today started out quite fine. First up was the maths lecture. Let's see, the lecture touched on further aspects of inequalities. As the lecture progressed, i was getting more and more confused. Maths isn't really my fort subject. What made the matter worse was that, as i struggled to listen, my dear friend See Kiat was beside adjusting his hair every 5 minutes interval. His hair movement was so distracting that i wished i could just tear out his hair and mop the floor with it. (Getting a bit agitated here.) But really, if you noticed, he can be seen doing his hair almost everytime. Acting cool? Maybe so.

Fortunately, before i lost my patience, the maths lecture ended. And guess what followed next? A maths tutorial! Our tutor is Mr Patrick Poh. He seemed quite serious and nice sometimes. But the maths tutorial was interesting. Afterall, we got to revise the concepts of AP and GP again. For me, it was a blessing because i had totally no idea of the topic. Luckily he go through with us once again. He also revised the various sign notations and came out with a 'owe beating question'. Man, he sure is an interesting maths tutor. After the maths tutorial, was the Physical Education session. Once again, we assembled at the grandstand and waited. Today, we were supposed to train for our fitness test. By the time we were finished, i could hear my muscles aching and screaming out for help. Next, we had a break for half-an-hour. Took the time to bought another exercise book for the General Paper Discussion.

Next lesson was physics practical. From the tone, i could tell that the teacher was not very happy that day. He sounded angry and his tone was threatening. We had 4 experiments to do in a matter of about one hour. We hurried through the experiment as quickly as possible. I was especially satisfied with my last experiment, as the values gave me a exact reading of the resistance i was using. Exactly 5 ohms! It was the first time my experiment went so smoothly. Next was General Paper lesson. Strangely, the tutors all either seemed to be sick or on dental appointment, resulting in no General Paper lesson for some of my friends. But, my tutor, Miss Gopal had came so we had to go for it. We waited outside room #04-30 for about 30 minutes. During that time, we had plenty of entertainment from Ching Yong and gang with lame things and finally, for the first time, without any interference from Kai Shuo, i managed to crack Wei Jie's box code. Then when Miss Gopal came and saw us, she was surprised as she had expected us to go to room #04-51 instead for the second tutorial! Oh my god, we had been foolishly standing outside the classroom for 30 minutes for nothing. Well, at least the lesson had been shortened to 1 hour now.

We went into the class and sat down. I was the only boy going for the lesson for our class so i ended up only having the girls as familiar faces. After attendance, Miss Gopal told us that she was going to call some of us up to give a speech of any topic for about 2 minutes. At first, no one dared to go up and speak. Then, when our GP representative, Teng Ming, went up and give his speech on time, other people started to speak up too. A few of the topic i can remember is from some of the 0616 and 0622 people. One of them promoted their 'happy club' and was urging people to join them. One of the girls spoke about romance. She talked about how she felt relationships are okay as long as one remain focus on their priorites. Then, some of the boys started to probe further about herself and whether her parents supported it or not. Another person talked about time too. He mentioned that if a person can't manage time properly, he is defined as a loser. So i guess that makes me a loser. Next up i think it was Stella's turn. She chose to speak about her fears. If my memory serves me right, i think she feared ants because they are small and gather in swarms. She also said that she was afraid because she had been bitten by red ants when she was in primary school. Her speech reminds me of a time when i was small and encountered a similar incident. I believed it was some day in 1997-1998. Me and my parents were waiting for a bus under a bus-stop. I casually put my hands over the railing and waited. The next moment, i felt a stinging pain in my hand. I turned around and was horrified to see a carpet of red swarming on my hand. I freaked out, of course. My parents went over and swept away the ants with a few swoop. By then, my hands was filled with bites and stings and some were beginning to swell. Ever since, when i see swarms of ants together, I get a strange tinkling sensation, uncomfortable.

Then, just as the lesson was approaching the end, Miss Gopal suddenly called upon me to say a speech. I didn't know what to say at that time, so i just picked any topic, which happens to be homosexuality. Actually, my class is always joking about this so we are pretty well-versed in this area. For most part, i did not believe half the stuff that i said. I was just throwing out stuffs as they came to my mind. To make things worse, those guys from 0622 were making things difficult for me by asking sensitive questions on a sensitive topic. I just tried my best to answer them and scrambled to my seat. Then, the class was dismissed. I joined up with Kok Yong and gang in discussion room 2 to discuss about the various topics of Project Work. There was also a heated argument between Wei Jie and Eng Seng on the topic ' Examinations and Tuitions". After that, we went for a short lunch and went home. However, God was not kind to me and send down pouring rain. The drains around the college was filled with rushing water. That was a very spectacular scene. Fortunately, i managed to capture some of it using my handphone's video camera.

I think i will end here now. (O'.')=O

Thoughts of the day: Once bitten, twice shy.

My Fourth Post

Saturday, 18th March 2006. I decided to go to the arcade at Causeway Point to break the House Of The Dead 4 high score record. Not surprisingly, when i arrived at about 1pm, there was a lot of people crowding around the machine, resulting in a long queue for play. Finally, after close to 2 hours of waiting, i saw no one at the machine and rushed to take my place. Sadly though, despite my high score, i was unable to complete the game, once again, The Star proving to be my undoing. I wonder, is it me who is unable to hit him, or is the gun calibration poor? Never mind, i would find another time to fight The Star again. Beside that, i also tried out Ghost Squad. I was so terrible at that game that i shot down hostages and died at mission 2. It was definitely a bad day for me. I was off-form. However, better luck came in the form of racing games like Daytona and Motocross. For Daytona, i managed first in face off with real person, quite an achievement i must say myself. For Motocross, i finally, for the first time, managed to complete Advanced course! That even surprised myself. However, there was definitely an element of luck involved at i was pushed through the finishing line by CPUs. Then, i tried Time Crisis 3, which i had rarely practiced. True to my words, i died soon after the 2nd stage.

Monday, 20th March 2006. Decked out in brown from head to toe, finally, i was wearing my new uniform to Nanyang Junior College. At least now, i feel like a student of the college proper. Arriving at the college, i could see swarms of brown all over the place, dispelling my earlier fears of only a few people wearing the uniform. Today's programs was terrible to say the least. First up was the 3 hours lecture on Project Work. I listened the best i could, took down relevant notes as fast as i could and tried to stay awake. Although there was a short break in between, nothing could be done to refresh me during that period. Finally, it ended something at 1045am. We went for a break and soon, there was the principal taking to the stage with his usual gusto and long speeches. However, i felt that some of the things he said during that period was meaningful to say the least. Moreover, the Question and Answer session was hilarious when the principal read out the last question that one of the students had cheekily passed down to him.

After that, it was the graphic calculator workshop in which we learnt about the various functions of our calculators. It was definitely the highlight of the day as not only was it interactive, it was fun as well. We learnt calculate simple sums using complicated functions and buttons. However, the real twist came at the end when the trainer revealed his 'masterpiece'. It was amazing to see what a person can do with functions, graphs and a graphic calculator. After that workshop, we were finally dismissed. We were also informed that tomorrow, 21st of March, was the JC1 Camp for us. We were supposed to turn up in our secondary school shirts. God knows what we are in for tomorrow. The person's words kept echoing in my mind, "My job is to make things difficult for you." *Shudders* What did he mean and what was he going to do to us? I hate being kept in the dark.

Our class, CT0617, was seperated into 2 camps today. The first intake pupils and the others who had just joined our class. I could not find out anything about our new CT mates though, as all of us were pretty much conservative and did not talk to one another except in our groups. However, already i can spot some potential flirters of our class through their actions. However, that is none of my concern and i shall not elaborate on it further. Heading home was a struggle too. Taking the Mrt from Ang Mo Kio to Woodlands everyday to and from, it is going to kill me sooner or later. I rather it be sooner. Hearing the principal's talk, i became worried. I was worried about the promotional examinations and that if i failed it, i will be retained, wasting one year of my life in the process.

This year, i have a few movies that i have targetted that i MUST watch. First is the Shaggy dog. The trailers showcase it to be so funny that i felt i must watch it to catch the comedy side. Besides, the dog was cute too. Next is the Da Vinci Code. It is scheduled to be out on 19th March. Again, the trailers on the internet rouse my excitement as it promises to be full of mysteries, treachery and puzzles. The third one is eight below. I have slightly forgotten the name but can vaguely remember the story. It's about a man's relationship with his snow dogs and his resolve to save them when they are stranded. The dogs do their part too, encouraging one another through the harsh conditions of the icy tundra. It looks like i will have to watch them by myself again, as no one seems to share the same taste of movie i have. However, this are on top of my 'Must Watch' list and i MUST catch them.

I shall end my entry now. (O'.')=O

My thoughts: Sometimes, i feel like i am so alone. No one understands me. But on the other hand, people had always commented that i rarely opens up to others. Then i thought, what is the use of opening up to others if you know they cannot help you? Then again, people replied that if don't open up, how do other people help you? What a paradox. But then again, whatever.

My Third Post

What a friday it was today. Today i had to buy uniforms and collect my Graphic Calculator to prepare for the new tern after the March holidays. Well, the uniforms was very expensive. Other people bought their uniforms for only fifty-dollars and mine was six-dollars more than theirs! Also, after the first 2 periods in the morning, the group of us headed down to Ang Mo Kio to a local area network (LAN) to play. After that, we had to rush all the way back to Nanyang Junior College for the Chinese lecture.

I have to still go back to Nanyang Junior College on Monday to buy the ties and PE Tee-Shirts. Since some of us were going to buy it only when school reopens, i guess i will have to go to the school alone. The school wasn't exactly near either. Today finally concludes the one-week 'academic orientation'. For that whole period, i couldn't understand a single words the lecturers tried to make it familiar to us. Guess i have to spend the holidays playing AND revising. I'm really scared i cannot make it through the first year in Junior College. But then, i consoled myself by thinking if i cannot make it, i will go to a Polytechnic, wasting only 2 years in the process. From secondary 3, i had always hope to go to a Junior College, partly was because due to my desire to see some of my primary school friends. Now, after all these, i am not so sure of my goals anymore.

Don't you just wish that you were back in secondary school? When everything was laid out in front of you and you could still enjoy the days, kinda like a 'honeymoon period'. Now, you have to fight and scrape for every piece of information available, because no one is going to offer it on a plate. But, on the bright side, after the March holidays, it would be the start of Orientation 2, meaning the playing and stuffs. Now i am seriously consoling myself. I have to take every opportunity to play, otherwise, i may not have the chance to play everyday, like it was in secondary school.

Think i will end my post here. (O'.')=O

I have no thoughts for today. So, i will leave you with a few excerpts from The New Paper.
George Washington not only chopped down his father's tree, but also admitted it. Why didn't his father punish him? Answer: '...'
What do you call a person who talks non-stop even though no one is listening? Answer: 'A teacher'.
A teacher suspected John copied his brother's work on a composition on My Dog. So, he summoned John to his office and asked him why does his work look so similar to his brother's. John answered,' Because we share the same dog.'
Girls cannot do without boys. It's a FACT.
Female has the word MALE in it.
Hostress has the word HOST in it.
Mrs has MR in it.
and etc.
What some words really mean:
Experience - The name men give their mistakes.
Philosopher - A fool who torments himself during life, only to be spoken of when he's dead.
Diplomat - A person who tells you to go to hell in such a way that you actually look forward to the trip.

That's it. Interesting stuffs from The New Paper.

My Second Post

Today seemed to be the last day for most of us in Nanyang Junior College. Well, you could see that the people here seemed to take it really easy. I mean, look at the amount of smiley faces in the campus and you can see why. I guess good things just don't last forever. Naturally, students and teachers alike took part in various photographing sessions to preserve the memories they had in Nanyang.

For my CT, almost half had parted us. Our Korean Superstar will be going to Ngee Ann Polytechnic soon, Jasmine will be changing subject combinations while our responsible CT representative was going to start a new life in Saint Andrew's Junior College. Janice is also heading off to Temasak Junior College. As for me, well, i will only know my fate when the posting results come out. I have a few regrets about my choice since that day i was in a rush and panicked when i submit my registration. Now, i am thinking whether or not i should appeal. But, the teachers said that appeals normally end up in failures. For now, i am already lost on what the teachers are teaching. Maybe i am more suited to a Polytechnic than a Junior College. Well, i will just let nature takes its due course in time. Since this is the last day of our CT, i will try to write a short comment on each one of them. (Copy my friend's method. =D)

CT0613

1)Ang Guan Kang - This guy very active in sports. Play volleyball and basketball so skilful. His shooting most of the time is very accurate. Success rate almost 100%. He's also very tall and during lessons, he tends to 'recuperate' a lot. Nice guy overall.

2)Chin Yimin - A soft-spoken girl. She seems to have the uncanny ability to make guys fall heads over heel over her. How else can you explain the amount of guys flocking to her side like helpless little birds? Otherwise a demure girl. (By someone else)

3)Choo Kit Hoong - Another basketballer. Don't let his stature fool you. He is really very skilful at that particular game. He can also play soccer well, but of course we always say him 'eat black money'. A very nice and friendly guy to hang out with. Got to drag him down to woodlands once in a while. =D

4)Chia Wan Hua - Seldom talks to her. But from the very FEW 'conversation' i had with her, i can tell she is quite friendly. Well, that's all i know about her, other than she seems to be friendly with everyone around her. For more information, you can approach Alvin Seah to learn more.

5)Janice Foo Zuo Ni - I did a check on the name 'Janice' and found out that it means God Is Gracious. -.-" Well, this girl is also very soft-spoken. I was in the same group with her for General Paper project so at least i did get a chance to hear her speak. She is very intelligent and of course, together with Stella, did most of the project. ( Don't look at me, i did contribute.=D). She has unique handwriting as well.

6)Goh Kai Li - One of the first 2 friends i made in CT0613. It started with a simple introduction in the Physics Laboratory. Also very friendly and nice. He never fails to greet people in the morning or when he sees them. He is very good in card games and since his CCA is Chinese Orchestra, i conclude that he is also good in music. Don't know why recently he developed the interest in Dance, but, i can only speculate. His nickname is 'Kelly'.

7)Stella Jean Jie Ying - Came from the same seconday school as me, but we were in different classes. One of the few 娇小 girls in our CT. I think she is smart in mathematics as she got the mathematics face. Her name 'Stella', means star. She is also active in sports, as can be seen from how much she runs, kicks, hits, whatever. During hockey, she was the one who started the 'Say sorry and continue whacking' trend. Alvin is always raving about how cute she looks too.

8)Kuek Li Wen - She is very tall. End of story. Full-stop. Got a lot of potential in basketball, netball or any ball games that requires tall people. Quote ' A friendly gentle giant'.

9)Jasmine Kum Pei Hua - 'Jasmine' means a jasmine flower, a gift from God. Self-proclaimed noisy girl, but i seldom see/hear her speak loudly. She got a lot of useful advises and i think she can be a professional counsellor in the future. She has also gone through a lot in life and so can gives us a hint or two on how to handle life itself. She also got that very smart face, somemore she takes literature, so, not only face smart, but the brain is smart as well.

10)Lim Yong Jun - Our very own Korean Superstar! Another basketballer and is quite skilled in the sport as well. He can play soccer as well, but also 'eat black money'. The 2nd friend i made in the CT as he and Kai Li introduced themselves to us. He is also quite sociable and interesting. He shows his friendship in the most unusual way, by whacking other people. A very smart guy as well. His latest movie, 'April Snow', did not do so well at the box office, but let's continue supporting him!

11)Richard Low Yue Jun - 'Richard' means a powerful ruler, brave one. A quiet guy when he doesn't speaks. (Of course quiet when doesn't speak, how to make sound when you don't speak?) He is also quite into gaming and Japanese animes as well. He can also study very well too. Balances work and play evenly.

12)Lee Tang Qian - The table-tennis player. I only know she talks alot and always bully me. Now, that seems to be all negative comments. =X. Well, i think she can also be quite friendly( How many times have i use this word?Gosh!) and humorous sometimes. Injury-prone too.

13)Ng Hui Chun - Some of them said she looked like Jeanette Aw. I am still trying to find the similarities between them. I did not get too many chances at talking with her so i can only comment on what i see. Seems to be the hot topic among guys, don't know why they keep saying about the soupy place incident. Don't ask me, i am also clueless about it. Jasmine's comment: 'Cute and helpful'.

14)Ong Chee Heng - Same surname as me. A very intelligent boy too. For his lack in height, he more than makes it up for his colourful personality. Has tons of humorous joke and comments about everyone else 'cept himself. I often refers to him as the radio, because i think is mouth is like a machine gun with unlimited ammunitions. =D

15)Ong Lun Kuang - ...It's me...

16)Alvin Seah Chuen Wei - 'Alvin' means elf wine and a noble friend. One thing about him is that normally, people smiles like that --> ^.^. For him, he smiles like this --> --.--. When he smiles, you really have to strain your eyes just to locate the 2 straight lines which i assume is his eyes. Also, he is smart as he is the top scorer for 'O' levels in his school. Rock On! Can associate well with girls and is popular with them. Friendly and fun guy to be with. Cracks numerous lame jokes as well.

17)See Wan Hui - She is really a very quiet girl. Seldom talks. This can be supported by opinions from her friends and peers. Quiet. Too Quiet.

18)Madeline Soh Hui Ting - 'Madeline' means woman from Magdala, one who is elevated, a high tower. I also don not know much about her. Maybe if one day, Wan Hui speaks up, she can tell us more about Madeline. =D

19)Soh Kok Yong - Same seconday school with me. Nice and friendly( Again, this word!) guy. Loves to sing songs as well. Were in the same class with him during seconday 1 and 2. He also has lots of lame jokes and watches soccer as well. He ALWAYS changes the club he supports. Unpredictable. He is also a dilligent and clever boy.

20)Eileen Soh Yi Ling - Don't know much about her too. She is very elusive so i certainly did not have the chance to strike up a conversation with her.

21)Tan See Kiat - Our very responsible CT representative. He is really very hardworking, smart and sticks to his duty well. He can be seen doing his homeworks often. He is also very creepy as well, always sneak behind me and give me a fright everytime he does that. I guess you can say he is a bit eccentric. But otherwise a very nice guy to be with.

22)Yeo Ching Yong - Jukebox. ALWAYS sings when he catches any glimpse of lyrics in a particular song he knows. The ultimate lame king in our CT. The jokes he tell is really cold to the extreme. Maybe one day he will become the next campus superstar or maybe the Singapore Idol.

That sums it up. The 22 interesting people of CT0613.

I think i will end my second post right here. (O'.')=O

My thoughts : People who thinks about suicide should ask themselves a question. Why resort to this? Afterall, death will come to everyone eventually. You don't have to go knocking on the Devil's door yourself. The Devil will come and knock on yours. If they have time and luxury to think about how to kill themselves, why not make full use of that time to contribute to the country before The Devil visit them?

My First Post

Finally, i have gotten myself a blog. The only reason why i started this was solely due to alot of my friends have started it as well. So, i told myself to give it a try, after all, what have i got to lose? It's free, isn't it?

For my first post, i will comment abit on my situation. Currently, i am being posted to Nanyang Junior College, assigned to CT0613, and before that, was part of OG11. After a few months in the college, i realized that making the transition from Secondary School life to Junior College life was going to be one hell of a ride. Where in Secondary School, we have classes, lessons, in Junior College, we have a lecture and tutorial system. Spot the difference?

For today's events, i will start with the PE session since the first 2 periods were Mathematics lecture and tutorial. PE was enjoyable, as we got to play a game called hockey(I think). Basically, i think that i was whacking everyone who had the ball with the wooden stick. Got some people even whack and say sorry simultaneously. I almost incurred the wrath of 2 boys when i whacked their 'sweetheart' on the leg twice. Ouch!

Chemistry tutorial was the same. Meaningful, enriching and entertaining. Next, after dismissal, i hang out a few CT-Mates and went to Plaza Singapura. I had fun there as we went to the arcade on the top floor, stood outside the House Of The Dead 4 machine, and criticised the people playing it. We laugh at their mistakes, pumped fists of joy when they were damaged(Exaggerating), and were pretty much sadistic about it.

Next, i went back to my Secondary School where i caught up with a few of my friends. Don't know why, but i had no intention of going early today. Finally, at about 17:01, i decided that it was running late and went back home.

I think i will end here with my first post. My very first infant blog post. (O'.')=O

My Thoughts( If you want to know) : Don't play House Of The Dead 4 in front of so many people when you know you cannot make it. Girls, when given a stick, can be deadly, more so than boys. If you apologized while you whack people, it would not be counted as an offence. Lastly, what you have may not always be with you forever, so cherish it and make the time you spent with it count.
